I recently tried Sellpy to declutter my home, sending clothes, shoes, and toys. Over the last six months, I’ve sent three big bags, and here’s my honest experience: what worked well, what didn’t, and whether it’s worth it for you.
If you want a stress-free way to sell items without spending hours listing them online, Sellpy can just do that.
Why I liked it:
It's easy to use: The process is straightforward: schedule a pickup or send items in, and Sellpy handles the rest.
Creating an account is easy. You can request 1, 2, or 3 Sellpy bags, which will arrive in a small package at your mailbox about a week after your request.
Each bag currently costs €1.99 (down from €2.99), making it an affordable first step to start decluttering.

Fill the blue Sellpy bag up to its maximum capacity. Make sure not to overstuff it.
Send back via PostNL.
Sellpy handles the rest, from pricing to selling your items.
Fast decluttering: unlike Vinted or other second-hand market platforms, you can free up space in your home quickly without spending hours on photos, descriptions, and shipping.
Sorting and pricing: They sort everything for you, and handle pricing automatically, though in some cases you may adjust certain prices.
The downside:
High costs: Sellpy takes a significant commission, which can eat into your earnings. It’s worth it if you value time over money, but not ideal for maximizing profit. This is what they advertise:
You get 40% for amounts under EUR 50.00
For items sold over EUR 50.00, you receive 70% of the amount exceeding EUR 50.00.
For every item listed for sale, we charge a listing fee of EUR 1.20. The listing fee is reserved immediately upon publication of an item. Naturally, no listing fee is charged for items that are not listed for sale.
Make sure your clothes are clean and in good condition. If Sellpy receives items that aren’t clean or in perfect shape, they will recycle them immediately. You have then 3 days to claim them back.
If you want to keep control of more expensive or high-value items, Sellpy may not be the best choice. They handle pricing themselves, and you have little say in how much you’ll earn. For these items, it’s better to use other platforms where you can set your own price (like Vinted).
Items that are not sold in 6 months will be automatically donated. However, you can request the return of items as long as they have not yet been sold, donated or recycled.
Final verdict:
Sellpy is excellent for anyone who wants a hassle-free decluttering experience. Just keep in mind that the “easy and fast” approach means paying more than if you sold items yourself.
